Movie Parental Guide

nudity No Nudity. A girl and a boy are in her room kissing. The boy pressures her to have sex with him but she doesn't - the boy leaves. There is an attempted rape, but the rapist does not get any clothes removed before it is stopped. Several verbal references to teenage sex, which are very direct.
violence One individual swerves his car in order to make another individual fall off his bicycle. He then threatens more violence. One individual strikes another individual over the head with a blunt metal object in order to stop the commission of a crime, the injury is not shown. One individual is struck by a vehicle which then rolls and overturns - these two individuals are later seen in a hospital with wounds and an operation which shows much blood.
profanity The word "prick" is used twice. "retard" is said frequently. One use of "hell".
alcohol Prolific abuse of alcohol (including strong liquors) throughout the film, by one of the main characters, and others. Drunken driving is shown frequently, even accidents caused by drunken driving. Overcoming alcohol abuse is one of the thematic points of the film. Underage drinking is alluded to but not shown on screen.
frightening An injury and hospitalization followed by surgery can be intense for those who do not like blood. The attempted rape of a teenage girl can also be intense for pre-teens.
