Chuck, a top international manager for FedEx, and Kelly, a Ph.D. student, are in love and heading towards marriage. Then Chuck's plane to Malaysia ditches at sea during a terrible storm. He's the only survivor, and he washes up on a tiny island with nothing but some flotsam and jetsam from the aircraft's cargo. Can he survive in this tropical wasteland? Will he ever return to woman he loves?
|nudity||On several occasions we see part of Chuck's butt while he wears a self-fashioned loin cloth. Some passionate kisses.|
|violence||A plane crashes and presumably kills everyone onboard except for Chuck (we don't see their deaths, although we later see one body). As a plane falls to the ocean, a co-pilot gets up and his head gets hit by the roof due to the strong frequent motion of the falling plane. We then see him with blood on his face as he cries in pain. A huge wave knocks Chuck from his raft and we see his legs bang painfully, and bloodily, on some sharp coral. Chuck punctures himself in the hand while attempting to build a fire. We see a hole in his hand and blood gushing out. Chuck knocks his tooth out with the blade of a skating shoe; there's a spurt of blood and he faints from the pain.|
|profanity||At least 2 "shit", 2 "hell", 1 "damn" and 1 "goddamn". 1 muted "fuck", but it's barely heard.|
|frightening||Some chaotic scenes inside an airplane where the handful of passengers are crashing around and becoming injured while the plane loses control, crashes on water, and sinks in several parts. A man is thrown into the ceiling where he bangs his head hard enough to draw blood. After a few moments, the plane slams into the ocean (seen only from the inside of the plane) and quickly fills with water and Chuck finds himself trying to get out before it sinks. It is implied that Chuck is the only survivor. Chuck finds the decaying remains of one of the pilots once he reaches the island, and the scene is emotional (he also finds a photo on the dead man of him and his children). Chuck brings it ashore and buries it. An emotional scene shows Chuck mourning after he loses his self-made companion, "Wilson". Chuck talks of committing suicide and how he used a wooden dummy to test the rope before he was going to hang himself. MPAA (USA) - Rated PG-13 for intense action sequences and some disturbing images. BBFC (UK) - Rated 12A (intense disaster sequences, moderate injury detail).|
