Movie Parental Guide

nudity Two of Sonny's lawyer friends are gay, and are seen french kissing when saying good bye in an early scene. At the beginning of the movie, Sonny's girlfriend is seen in her bra and a skirt. Only cleavage is seen. There are two references to testicles. A few mild kisses between a man and woman. A couple of mild sexual references between two gay men throughout the film.
violence Sonny puts a stick out in the path of an in-line skater, causing them to trip and fall. Later, Julian, having learned this from Sonny, does the same thing. Sonny gives Julian a slingshot and some marbles to play with and Julian runs off, its later shown that Julian accidentally killed a bunch of pigeons with it, but it is only seen from far away for a few seconds and it's not gory, its shown in a humorous manner.
profanity at least 12 "s" words, 16 asses, 13 hells, 6 damns. A character gives another the finger. No "F" words. Most of these words are said by and in front of Julian.
alcohol Talking to Julian's classmates, Sonny refers to drug usage as "smoking dope", "puffing the cheeba", "go by the see saw & smoke a J", and "doing mushrooms", as well as referring to drinking rum. (he is concerned about the type of kids Julian might be hanging around with). This whole scene is comedic. The film contains mild drinking and smoking throughout. Contains one mild reference to the connection between drinking and acting how you wouldn't normally.
frightening Nothing frightening but the end scene where Julian is being taken away from Sonny may be sad and a bit emotionally intense for some children.
